Legal dispute between Playstation 3 jailbreak George “GeoHot” Hotz and Sony Entertainment got end up in settlement. The Official Playstation Blog revealed the joint statement from playstaion hacker Hotz and Sony . Hacker Hotz agreed to remove all his playstaion 3 hacking resources from the web.

It is well know that Sony sued Hotz and several other hackers in January, after he posted files and documentation for the PS3 jailbreak. As with Hotz’s work on the iPhone, the PS3 hack allowed users to install unauthorized software, including cheats, pirated software and the Other OS feature that Sony removed from the console a year ago.

PlayStation hacker Hotz said in the announcement “It was never my intention to cause any users trouble or to make piracy easier. I’m happy to have the litigation behind me”.

For his part, Hotz announced via his blog this morning that he is “joining the Sony boycott,” and that he “will never purchase another Sony product.” It could be that he’s mad after the legal case … or it could just be that he’s broke.

The Settlement between PS3 hacker Hotz and PS3 owner Sony is not disclosed fully. The settlement still leaves plenty of loose ends and has no clue about the other hackers that the company sued, and there’s no shortage of BitTorrent sites listing Hotz’s jailbreak, limiting the effects of the permanent injunction.

The Settlement with Hotz can stop him from hacking futher PS3 sony products and can make him remove the PlayStation jailbreak he made available. But we wonder what Sony is gonna do for removing the vast amount of PS3 jailbreak available all over the web ?????

Thanks to the Rebug Team, PlayStation 3 v3.56 version spoofer has been released in order to prevent your PS3 from automatically updating to the latest firmware. In addition, this program can even restore the firmware to the version 3.55 if needed. According to the author, PSN access isn’t allowed yet, so you probably shouldn’t try to access it, although there might be a way soon.
